Notes: This wonderful Pennsylvania native attracts hordes of butterflies late in the season with its large clusters of rich purple flowers. It is a statuesque plant growing 4-5 feet tall and is not for the small garden. Ironweeds are incredibly adaptable to most garden conditions, but this particular species is happiest in ordinary to somewhat wet locations.
